Left Foot Charley & Bos Wine Tasting

Join us for a Northern Michigan wine tasting collaboration with Left Foot Charley and BOS Wines both in one place! These winemakers focus on vineyard quality first, knowing that great fruit makes great wine. They have very special and personal relationships with growers on Old Mission Peninsula, Leelanau Peninsula and Benzie County.

Left Foot Charley is located in the former Northern Michigan Asylum in Traverse City, Michigan.  LFC is a Michigan version of an Austrian Heuriger – a place where aromatic and flavorful wine is an everyday event. Locals and visitors alike have come to realize that the non-traditional setting pairs perfectly with the atypical fruit sourcing and old-style winemaking that defines LFC. Left Foot has a committed focus on red and white wine varietals, hard cider, and sparkling wine.

BOS:

BOS Wine Garden is located in a quaint farmhouse in Elk Rapids, Michigan. Dave Bos and his wife Jackie moved back to Michigan to establish a boutique winery that utilizes some of the beautiful cool climate varietals grown in Northern Michigan that they enjoy drinking. Dave Bos worked Napa Valley for many years and converted over 300 acres of the renowned Grgich Hills vineyards into all organic and biodynamic farming. He kept many of his relationships in the Valley and is the first ever tasting room in Michigan to offer wines he makes in both California and Michigan.

Wines from the Mary Taylor Portfolio

Madison from Vintage wines will take us through several wines from the Mary Taylor Portfolio - and they are amazing wines and terrific values! Mary Taylor is a very prominent wine importer. She created Mary Taylor Wine because she doesn’t think you should have to be a serious wine expert to experience the kind of honest, authentic wines that the Europeans have been enjoying for centuries.

The White Label series is here to serve as your guide through the rural backroads and winding country lanes of the European wine route. Whenever you open one of their bottles, you’ll know you’re getting more than just another commercial brand or standard Chardonnay or Merlot. That’s because every Mary Taylor Wine is a genuine “wine of place,” sourced from some of Europe’s most classic regions and, best of all, priced according to the “Old World” view of wine as an accessible everyday luxury.

Vina Robles Winery with Luke Fuller

Sample Vina Robles wines with Luke Fuller

Luke Fuller entered the beverage industry in 1993 as a merchandiser at Union Beverage Company, which at the time was one of the three largest distributors of Spirits and Wine in the Chicagoland area. Early in his career Luke developed a passion for the industry and wanted to grow within it, and at Union Beverage Company Luke took it upon himself to learn as many roles as possible. During his time at the distributor, Fuller had extensive experience both in the off and on premise markets as a sales representative and District Manager. He continued to grow with the distributor and became Brand Manager in the beer division. These varying positions and responsibilities helped Luke grow as a professional and were very instrumental in helping him understand the inner workings of the distributor at many different levels.

This experience also helped Luke build an excellent foundation for the supplier side of the business, and in 2001, he transitioned to this segment of the industry, selling premium and luxury spirits and wines from countries such as France, Italy, Scotland, Barbados, and The United States with Remy Cointreau. In 2009, he started selling wines from Argentina and Chile for TGIC Importers, and he specialized in selling Spanish wines from the Fine Estates from Spain portfolio (Jorge Ordonez portfolio) until late 2015. In November 2015, Luke was hired as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager for the Vina Robles Vineyards and Winery, which is family owned and operated, located in Paso Robles, CA. He manages 7 states and works with distributors and accounts to help build the brand exposure of Vina Robles.

Luke has extensive experience selling wines, spirits, champagne, and sparkling wines, which includes experience managing multiple markets.

In 2006, Luke built upon his appreciation for wine, fine spirits, and passion for selling these products and earned a certification from WSET IC.

About Vina Robles Vineyards & Winery: Growers and makers of expressive, approachable estate wines from Paso Robles, CA, Vina Robles owns and farms 6 SIP Certified Sustainable vineyards in 5 regional sub-districts.
